Heading Out to Finish the Womble Tomorrow
Tomorrow morning, I'll be starting where I left off; at Hwy 27. Tomorrow night, I'm planning on camping at Fulton Branch Campground along the Ouachita River. It's just west of highway 298 on county road 61. Saturday night, I'll probably get as far as I can (I expect to end up camping along Mauldin Mountain somewhere) and hopefully have a short hike out Sunday.
There was a time (in my skinnier days) when I would do this whole 26 miles in two days, but I'm just not in shape enough (or light enough) to hack it yet. So, I plan on taking my time and spending a couple of cool nights out. The weather should be perfect.
I bought some Leki poles, so maybe I can keep my feet underneath me this time!
See ya Sunday!

You have a blast too, buddy!
I'll tell ya, after my first trip out to the Womble and then working my tail off out in the Caney Creek Wilderness, I'm feeling like I'm in a lot better shape for this stuff. So I'm sure your weight change will make a big difference. If nothing else, at least it will be easier to tie your boots!
Be safe! See ya Sunday!

Jay,
Have a geat time! With the hike and work day in the Caney Wilderness you should be able to handle anything that the Whomble throws at you.
