Next planed work date for Caney Creek
Ok I haven't really tried to advertise about getting volunteers to help clear trail but I am now. Janet and I and Jay (if I am talking to soon Jay please let me know) and one other person are going into Caney Creek to work on clearing dead fall on the 23rd and 29th of Nov. at least I and Janet will work both days. If you would like to work either day or both please let me know. I don't plan on camping because after a full day of work on the trail I would rather have my own bed at night! Any way let me know here or PM or EMAIL me.
Thanks!

Re: Next planed work date for Caney Creek
I would also like to add that if you are new to this I can tell you what will work and what won't! We found out the hard way. We started last spring on the Buckeye with one set of hedge shears (I like these for the briar's) and some large loppers from Wal Mart. Well they are now completly worn out! We will be going to Fiskars brand from Home Depot next, they have power bypass lopper that is great. I also bought a limb saw that works great, ask Jay! It is the Fano K-24 saw. It works on the back stroke like a cross cut saw. It does a number on trees and limbs. Any way I have a attachment from FOoT about tools if anyone wants me to forward it.

Re: Next planed work date for Caney Creek
I goofed on the dates. It is the 22nd and not the 23rd the 29th is correct. More folks seem willing to work on the 29th. We might just make the 29th the main date.
Also FOoT's annual meeting is also on the 22nd. If we decide to go we will cancel that date any way. If so I will post here.
EDIT: We won't be going to the meeting. We have decided that we would rather work on the trail. So it is the 22nd and 29th of Nov.

Update!
Ok here are the folks that have contacted me about working on the Caney Creek TraiL:
Sat. Nov. 22nd:
Janet Trigg (Outlawpacker)
Tom Trigg (OH)
Jay
Mark Adams (Trailrelic)
Susan Bates (from Mena)
Sat. Nov. 29th:
Janet
Tom
Bryan Trigg (my son from OK City)
Mark Davis (ar.hiker)
Ok anyone else want to join in on the fun? We will be cutting out dead fall.
This has taken on a life of it's on! We should get a lot of work done over the
two weekends. If anyone else wants to help out please contact me.
You must fill out a FS work agreement. Don't be like us and work and then contact
the FS! Yep that is how we got started last year! By the way I have a 24" saw and Mark Davis has purchased a one man cross-cut saw so more saws probably could be
used.
Thanks for reading this and pass the word!
