Caney Creek
Hello!
Just for info if you haven't caught my post on other sites. There is large timber down on the West part of the Caney Creek Trail.
The ice, snow, and also the heavy rain and wind was just to much for some of those big pines. This was report by a hiker from TX and
I have relayed the message to the Mena FS office.
The wife and I are also working to clear the Buckeye Trail. There are alot of briars and some down trees up on the ridge. Two weeks ago we cleared around 1.5 miles, just an educated guess. We were going to back pack in and clear as we go this week but with the heavy rains that are comeing down today and later today we have called that off.
The wife and I are also members of FoOT and have adopted the 1.5 mile section from the Ok/AR state line, Talimina Drive, to the FS Rd.
Any way we are both in our mid-50,s and trying to do what we can on the area trails. The Caney and Buckeye are around 38 miles from our place out side of Dierks.
Hope to see yall hiking!

Hard to see but tall peak is seen thru the fog..
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. John Muir
