Buckeye Trail work this weekend

For anyone that would like to help, Janet and I will be working on the Buckeye Trail this weekend. As of now, and it could change, we will leave after school on Friday and head up to the trail. We will work our way to the top of the ridge and stay on the ridge or slightly down the trail from the ridge near the old mine. If you don't know were the old mine was I can tell you.

We will work our way thru on the trail on the ridge with our goal to make it to the Katy falls that afternoon. We will probably come out Sun. morning clearing from Katy falls to the East trail head as we go. From the reports that I have read there isn't much in the Caney Creek valley to deal with. We will be working with full packs so it will be slow I am sure but I want to spend one weekend up there and be done with it.
Anyone want to come along? If you can't get there till Sat. just follow the trail till you find us.

Well we have adjusted our plans. We will only work this Sat. but we will clear as far as we can. As I said before anyone that would like to help you are welcome to come along. We will get on the trail early and work till we drop.

Tom, I'm not sure I can make it but if I was able, do you have tools I can use, or would I need to come up with some?

Are you guys camping in there Saturday night, or hiking out?

Like I said, I'm not sure if I can make it, or if I could stay the night if I did, but I may be able to come out for the day Saturday.

We have decided to just go up early Sat. morning and work the day. As far as tools we have some to spare but if you have any loppers, as in headge shears, that will work. Do you have my cell number? We were going up for the weekend but we just have to many conflicts right now. At least this way we will be fresh Sat. morning to have a good day of work. I still have you cell number if it hasn't changed and will try to contact you today.

Ok, will meet at 7:00 in Athens. I just got on line. Got in from Nashville. Will have to work hard all day just to work of my meal! O well no problem there! See you in the morning.
