New Tarp!!

Post by ulhiker on Mon Jul 14, 2008 9:49 pm

Just wanted to post a couple of pictures of my new tarp. I've been waiting for almost a year for the guy in Arizona to start making these to sell to the public.

BTW, it weighs 9 oz.

The guy that makes these tarps works out of his home. He's a true "stay-at-home-dad". He will post occasionally that he has some tarps for sale that he has made. Most of the tarps that he sells are the conventional single-ridge design, but he posted pictures of a dual-ridge tarp about a year ago and I really liked the design. Here is the post that I saw this evening.

He makes some other gear, such as quilts. If you're interested in contacting him, I'm sure you could PM on that site. Or PM me, and I can give you his email address.

That looks great, I am glad that he was able to make one for you. My wife is about to work on a few of her tarps in the next 3 weeks, she is going to her mother's house to sew, while I am out hiking in the heat Very Happy.

Got my tarp in the mail about a week ago, but had to run out of town right after, so I didn't get to play with it much. It is a great setup and I know I'm really going to get a lot of use out of it. I will have it at the Tarp Clinic so those who are interested can take a look.
BTW, I weighed it on my digital scales and it weighs 7.75 oz. with stuff sack. Razz
