Hello Team! This is a great park to hike, but, due to recent weather there was alot of flooding on the trails! Where there's standing water there's lots of bugs! I had on bug spray and still managed to get bit several times! Suggest you wait a few weeks if you plan on hiking this one. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

I agree with Lea, where there is water there are bugs, lots of bugs!!! It rained on us the 22nd, and it was so humid that my shoes and socks would not dry out. Only went around once because my feet were like prunes

Yellow Rock Trail
Devils Den State Park
3 miles
The bugs weren't too bad during our hike. The liberal amounts of DEET could have been a factor.
It started raining when we started at the overlook trailhead and was off and on the entire hike. The kids were troopers and enjoyed using their hiking sticks to pole vault over mud puddles. We even saw a little waterfall after following a small drainage. Great day!

Lots of opportunities to view wildlife along this trail system. We saw lots of deer, raccoon, possum, bobcat, and bear tracks along the way. Several others I couldn't identify. Can't wait to bring the kids back.

I had a great time with all my family, and just in case anyone asks, you can hike this trail with a 3 year old. All 7 of us had a blast at Devil's Den, and the kids liked going to the pool after hiking

There were butterflies and wildflowers blooming everywhere on the mountaintop. The temperature was an incredible 78 degrees.
It was a wonderful hike out with the family.
