Devil's Den State Park
Feb 21, 2009
7 miles
Hiked .5 miles down Lee Creek and back before we met up with the guys. Then 3 miles on the Butterfield with the guys, and the other 3 miles on Holt Road and the Vista Ridge Horse Trail. I had Burritto, and I had him on my shoulders for about .25 miles. I had a full pack on too.

Hole In The Ground Creek
February 24, 2009

My wife and I both hiked down an old AV trail that paralleled Hole In The Ground Creek north of Pine Ridge, AR to a neat little waterfall. We were even able to introduce a friend of hers to hiking outdoors since she had never been.

Poteau Mountain Wilderness
4.6 miles
Total = 9.2 miles
My wife and I hiked in to visit Slate Falls today. Had a great time even if it was just a trickle. I totally bothched our GPS track so we're claiming the mileage from Tim Ernst's "Arkansas Waterfalls Guidebook." I shot a short video while we were there.
[edit to add] I know I'm new and all but why is the forum referring to me as a hick!?

OE's,
Please check out this old thread for a explination. If you notice that as you post more you reach certain levels and when you reach them you assigned a new "term".
By the way great video! When I taught in Waldron back in the late 70's I heard of a water fall up there but didn't have much to go on so I never found it. In fact it wasn't even a wilderness back then!
Keep the hikes and videos coming!
OH

Hole In The Ground Mountain Trail
Wednesday March 4th
5.66 miles (11.32 total) - GPS tracked
We tried to hike in from the Jack Creek trailhead but my wife couldn't bring herself to cross the creek so we drove around to the southern trailhead. We'd never hiked this trail before and loved it! Can't wait to get back.
