Need suggestions

Post by mgood on Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:48 pm

I'm looking for some good trails in southern AR. What trails have the highest gradient, best views, or just coolest atmosphere? Many thanks to all posters.

I am sure everyone here will agree the best one in Sothern Arkansas is the Eagle Rock Loop. The Caney Creek Trail and the Buckeye trail are great also. The Ouachita is more central but it has it all also. Here is a link that might help: http://ouachitamaps.com/

All depends on the miles that you want. I have said it a lot here. If views is what you want you would be hard pressed
to out do the Buckey/Caney creek trail systems. It has it all, mountain views, beautiful streams, water fall (Katy Falls, 35'),
beautiful bluffs, you name it and it has it. Check out my website link for pics. of the trail system.

The ouachita trail has many options. Many access points that you could get on and off at, plus depending on what secion that you hike, there's pretty much whatever you want to see. Beautiful trail.
