20% Off Leki Trekking Poles

Post by ulhiker on Tue Jul 29, 2008 8:51 am

Backcountry.com is having a sale on Leki trekking poles, so if you're looking to upgrade from that pair of broken down, duct-taped, Wal-Mart bargain set, here's your chance.

They even have a couple of lightweight ones on sale. Laughing

I don't know of many companies who have better customer service than Leki.

I lost the bottom section on one my Bones on the Cumberland Trail. I wrote Leki and asked if a replacement part was available. They sent back an email and asked for my address. They shipped two of the sections at no cost.

They also have a booth at Trail Days every year and will clean and repair Leki's at no cost.

My wife nearly killed me when I bought my Leki Super Makalu's, but they are worth every $. I love them, and I use to make fun of people who used trekking poles. I always thought they were racing thru the forest, but now I am a full convert. I even bought some Leki youth poles for my 4 year old son at Uncle Sams Outfitters in Fayetteville for $20. He loves them. You will not go wrong getting these poles.

I use a pair of Komperdell poles and really like them. They have had some abuse, but keep going strong. I looked at possibly replacing them with a pair of Leki, but mine weigh 17.5 oz per pair and I really couldn't find a pair of Leki that were any lighter. Plus, mine are a two-piece design, so I figure that there is one less locking mechanism to go wrong. Laughing

I have a pair of LekiSport that while not the lightest out there they are 2 piece design as well UL and I figured the same thing as far as one less peice to fail. Also played with several including the Makalu's and found a pair of Komperdell's at the local outfitters but these felt the most solid when placing weight on them. I am happy with mine as well. lol
