I am leaving Thursday morning early, parking my truck at FR106, and then hiking north Upper Mo Tril head. I am camping there Thursday night, and meeting everyone there Friday morning at 9am. If you get there Thursday night, just look for the young kid in a hammock
The weather is looking awesome!

Re: Eagle Rock Loop Group Hike
I'm going to leave the house at 2am Friday morning and hope to meet the group a the RV parking lot close to 8. If I'm late, then I'll drive up to the Upper Little Mo and catch up with you guys on the trail.
Oh, and no one can make fun of my bear canister - I'm training w/ it for the JMT in July.
Ditto on the weather!!

I got confirmation on having the weekend off, but I still don't know what time I'll be able to get out of LR on Friday. Probably not before 5.

Well check on us in AP before heading down to the winding stairs trail head I guess just to make sure we made it that far.

Re: Eagle Rock Loop Group Hike
Hey just a FYI for everyone. I just talked to Tenn... and I think what I may do is something that the other guys that may wear out quickly maybe should think about doing. I am thinking I will stage my main pack at Albert Pike in someones vehicle, and just take my day pack from the upper trail head down to AP. Then pick it up. Should make Fri faster and more distance. Then we know we are only packing enough stuff for Saturday and sat night and sunday morn. Just a thought. Been thinking about doing this the last 3 times or so I did the trail. But then I am not trying to prove anything just moving on down the trail lol.

Makes sense to me,TM. There should be 1 or 2 vehicles from my group here that we could leave there. I'm bringing a daypack just in case.
Any other good ideas? Rollerblades, anything like that?

I think I'm going to have to sit this one out, don't want to aggravate my knee even though it's feeling better. May camp around the trailhead Sat. night and at least say howdy when you guys come off the trail. Have a good trip!

Re: Eagle Rock Loop Group Hike
I just got back home, and WOW RedBuffalo sure can keep a steady even nice pace up hills!! Eagle Rock and Brush Heap were nice and we didn't have to stop, just slow and steady. We made it to my truck around 1:30 and I just went ahead and drove home (no Pizza-Hut
). Amanda made me Enchiladas, so that got my home pretty fast.
I had a great time, and thanks Mark for the invitation!!!!

Re: Eagle Rock Loop Group Hike
By the way. . .
Trail Monkey had me worried when he said Saturday morning that he thought my pack weighed 20-25 lbs., so I went home and measured it
With everything except food and water, my pack weighed in on Isaiah's baby scale at 8lbs 9.5oz.! I had 1 liter of water on me (2lbs) and then my food. I did weigh my extra food when I got home, and I had 1lb 11.5oz
I could have eaten for a whole other day. I will have to cut the extra food out and really plan my snacks out from here on out, but I am glad that going up Eagle Rock and Brush Heap I had on a sub 15lb. pack

Re: Eagle Rock Loop Group Hike
I just got home today. Tenn and Red Buffalo are freaking machines! I was carrying a 16 1/2 pound pack and could barely keep up with them on the big uphills.
BTW Red Buffalo, I found a bunch of rocks in my pack. Any idea where those came from??
